James Watkins
Architect (ARB / RIBA)
With over a decade of experience in architecture, James has worked across a range of architectural practices of varying sizes throughout Norfolk and Suffolk, equipping him with both a broad portfolio and a deep understanding of architectural practice.
James joined Paul Robinson Partnership in the summer of 2024. He completed his Part 3 studies shortly after, in which his years of experience culminated in becoming a qualified architect. His career spans a diverse range of sectors, including both small and large-scale residential and mixed-use developments, specialist educational facilities, barn conversions, small commercial units, and bespoke, one-off homes.
James has a particular strength in concept design and delivering planning permission packages for residential developments. He is passionate about collaborative working, valuing strong communication with all stakeholders as key to a successful project outcome. His expertise with 3D modelling is a vital tool to help clients visualise their projects from the early stages.
Since joining PRP, James has embraced the collaborative, supportive environment where teamwork is at the core of every project. He enjoys transforming client briefs into compelling conceptual ideas and ultimately into tangible, well-crafted designs. A highlight of his career has been the refurbishment of a specialist dementia care home in Norwich, a project that profoundly influenced his design philosophy, instilling a deeper emphasis on empathy and the end-user experience.
Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his young family. He is also a keen footballer and a regular player and captain of a team in the FA-affiliated ‘Match of the Dads’ 5-a-side league in Norwich. He’s on a mission to recruit more PRP colleagues to join in the fun!
