Andrew Smith
Building Conservation Manager (MSc / MCSD)
Andrew’s journey into architecture began in the creative world of fine art, graphics, and interior design having studied at Art College before receiving one-on-one training and collaboration with an architect for 5 years. His technical groundwork and design skills saw him quickly become an integral part of Paul Robinson Partnership, contributing to projects across all sectors. As a result, Andrew can provide a full architectural service from initial design concepts through to completion on site. In recent years Andrew has provided a heritage and building conservation consultancy at the practice and thrives on full involvement in a project, collaboration, client engagement, and networking, and always seeking opportunities to help the practice grow.
With a deep-rooted passion for history, nurtured from childhood by his grandfather’s stories of the famous Rows and historic buildings of Great Yarmouth, Andrew later formalised his interest by obtaining a degree in Building Conservation alongside his long-standing membership of the Chartered Society of Designers. His passion and enthusiasm for heritage projects continue to expand, providing full architectural services and project procurement, alongside an ongoing remit associated with PRP’s core expertise in holiday and leisure. Among Norfolk’s architectural gems, Norwich Cathedral remains one of his favourites.
Outside his commitments to the Practice, Andrew enjoys the flexibility PRP offers, allowing him to balance professional growth with family life. A keen cyclist and motorcyclist, he heads to Scotland annually for hill expeditions. Music remains a creative outlet, having played in a rock band, he now performs in a folk band. Whether attending local gigs, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time with his family, Andrew brings the same enthusiasm and dedication to his personal passions as he does to his work.
