Simon Nicholas, Partner at Paul Robinson Partnership, a top architect firm in Norfolk, trusted for creative design solutions and expert consultancy across East Anglia.

Simon Nicholas
Partner (ACIAT)

Simon is a Partner at Paul Robinson Partnership, with over four decades of experience delivering high-profile projects, both across Norfolk and nationally. His leadership and expertise have made him a trusted figure in the architecture and construction industry, particularly within the holiday and leisure sector.

Simon’s journey into architecture began in 1981 when, at just 16 years old, he answered an advert for an office junior at Paul Robinson Partnership. Offered the role that very afternoon, Simon started work the next day.

Within two months of joining PRP, Simon was entrusted with drawing work, ten months earlier than planned. When a senior colleague left, he stepped up without hesitation, working tirelessly into the night to meet deadlines and maintain high standards. His dedication didn’t go unnoticed, and Simon became an accredited ACIAT member, alongside being promoted to a practice Associate in 1992. He was made a Partner in 2008.

Today, Simon leads many of the practice’s most significant projects, specialising in holiday parks and leisure developments. His collaborative approach and creative leadership have helped forge long-standing relationships with some of the UK’s leading operators, including Parkdean Resorts, Bourne Leisure, and Lovat Parks. The strong client relationships Simon has built over the years have not only earned the trust and loyalty of major national names, but also proved invaluable in keeping the practice thriving through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

To Simon, Paul Robinson Partnership is more than just a practice – it’s been a major part of his life for 44 years. As the longest-serving member of the team, with a tenure that spans the practice’s evolution from its earliest days, he remains as passionate today as the day he started. His commitment to the practice, its people, and its projects continues to inspire those around him.

Simon is also proud to see the next generation following in his footsteps. His son, Lewis, has embarked on his own career in the construction industry, bringing them even closer as they share insights, experiences, and a mutual dedication to the profession.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys travel, walking and other outdoor pursuits.
